Hospital Notary Services At
Hospitals and Care Facilities
Tifini Vega - Notary Public
When Booking a Hospital Notary Service
• Patients must be coherent and willing to sign the documents at the time of the Notary's arrival.
• It's important to communicate with the patient before the Notary's visit to the care facility.
Take a moment to explain why a Notary is coming and provide an overview of the document’s purpose. Notaries do not review documents with patients, as they are not attorneys and cannot give legal advice.
• If your document requires a witness, be aware that many facilities do not allow their staff to serve in this role.
Be sure to check with the facility staff ahead of time. If they cannot act as witnesses, you may request the Notary to provide them. Please note that additional charges may apply.
• Notaries cannot draft documents such as wills, advance healthcare directives, or affidavits.
Unless the Notary is also a licensed attorney or document preparer, they cannot create documents. Always have your paperwork ready before the Notary appointment.
• If you won’t be present during the signing, coordinate return options with the Notary in advance.
Let your Notary know how you’d like the documents returned — via UPS, FedEx, or standard mail. Additional fees may be required.
