Where I work. Mobile appointments cover the Peninsula and Silicon Valley — Burlingame, San Mateo, Redwood City, Palo Alto, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, San Jose and nearby cities (full list on the service-area page). Apostille, retrieval and FBI orders are handled by mail, so I take those from anywhere in the U.S. or abroad.

Urgent and after-hours appointments may be available for hospitals, care facilities, estate planning signings, corporate matters, and other time-sensitive situations.
Appointments should be requested at least two hours in advance whenever possible. Prepayment may be required to confirm an appointment or begin apostille and record retrieval services.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an apostille? A certificate from the California Secretary of State that makes a California document valid in another Hague Convention country. For non-Hague countries, I can advise on the embassy legalization route instead.

How long does a California apostille take? 7–10 business days for vital records and 5–7 for court and business documents, counted from when I receive an eligible document. Expedited service is 1–2 business days.

Can you handle my apostille if I don't live in California? Yes. As long as the document was issued in California, you can mail it to me from any state or country.

Does my document need to be notarized before the apostille? Certified vital records and court records don't get notarized — they go straight to apostille. Powers of attorney, business documents and similar papers must be notarized first; I can do both in one order.
