How It Works

1. Send your official FBI report

Forward the original Identity History Summary PDF exactly as you received it from the FBI or your processing provider. Include your destination country, deadline, and return shipping address.

Send the official file with all pages intact. You may open it to review it; please do not edit, crop, or replace it with a screenshot or a scan of a printout.

2. I coordinate hand-delivered submission

After reviewing your report and confirming service, my courier partner prints the official PDF and submits it in person to the U.S. Department of State's Office of Authentications in Washington, D.C.

3. The Department of State processes your request

The federal office reviews the submission and issues the apostille when the document meets its requirements. I coordinate the next steps with my courier partner.

4. Your completed document returns by FedEx 2Day

After pickup, the apostilled report is shipped to your confirmed U.S. address with tracking. Domestic FedEx 2Day return shipping is included. International delivery can be arranged for an additional quoted charge.

Processing Time and Return Delivery

Estimated federal processing through my courier partner is 7–10 processing days after submission, subject to government processing conditions.

Submission and pickup coordination, federal holidays, and return transit can add time. FedEx 2Day delivery is typically two business days after shipment, subject to the destination and carrier conditions.

Who May Need an FBI Apostille?

An overseas authority may request an apostilled FBI report for a visa, residency, citizenship, adoption, or another application. The receiving authority determines the report type, permitted age, and authentication requirements.

Can the California Secretary of State apostille my FBI report?

No. An FBI Identity History Summary is a federal document. Its apostille is issued by the U.S. Department of State, rather than a state Secretary of State.

Does my FBI report need notarization?

No. Submit the FBI-issued report without notarizing it. The federal apostille process authenticates the FBI official's signature; it does not require a separate notarized copy.

How recent must my FBI report be?

The receiving authority sets the age limit. Confirm its requirements before ordering or submitting your report, including whether the deadline is measured from the report's issue date.

What if my destination requires embassy legalization?

Contact me with the country and the receiving authority's instructions. I can review the request and coordinate federal authentication and embassy or consular legalization when applicable. Those services are quoted separately.
